waiting

Waiting for an answer with a headache throbbing, trying to think clearly, yet the pain is robbing my sensibility toward comprehension, no it's not from tension. I think it's from the pollen that we've all been callin' for and spring has sprung and the hammer's swung against the anvil in my cranium. Even so I'm waitin' though the hurt is gratin' against my nerves of steel, still it's worth the waiting, the anticipating, not with hesistating I keep looking to see que sera, what will be?

tuesday

It's been a sunny, rainy day; hot and cool; clear and cloudy - an April day. The daffodils still have blossoms, hyacinth, too. There are forget-me-nots and magnolia trees abloom. The grass has gotten mowed in some places, the others don't need it yet. You can hear semi's roaring away; the song birds singings as well; the dogs barking; the children jabbering; the adults just talking about this and that. You miss people far away, meet people nearby, call and talk to people on your heart - pray for them all, reach out above on behalf of each one. Yesterday's gone - today is almost over - tomorrow's not here yet, oh, what a wonderful moment to be with You! Keep my heart focused on the path You are laying out for me to walk! Be sure it ends where You are! To know You is the very best thing in life - in fact, it is life abundant and everlasting! Thanks for making Yourself known to me!

days

The days' daze is a haze of crazy ways to make a maze of things people say easy on the face but spun until you reel with confusion, delusion reigns, darkness deigns that we stumble and bumble and fall away, all the way away from Kingdom come.

Belonging

"We belong to the day..." To the light, as those who can see, so as t not be caught unawares at Jesus' return. "...let us be self-controlled..." this isn't a striving as such, it is bearing God's fruit (Gal. 5:22-23). How? "...putting on faith and love as a breastplate..." more fruit, and armor - Faith (shield from the enemy's fiery darts of temptation) and love (heart's motivation to action, God's love shed abroad in our hearts because He first loved us) - these guard our heart: the source of all our words, actions, the seat of our beliefs. "...and the hope of salvation as a helmet." (I Thessalonians ch. 5 vs.8). a reasonable hope: as well as spirit known, reasonable because the God of Creation has a complete perspective of all that' s been, is, and will be, and has made a way for us. He makes our hope reasonable.

Jail time

"And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them." Acts 16:25
It was because Paul and Silas were in jail with the prisoners that the prisoners heard them. It was becaue Jesus was in their hearts and witness that they were in jail, and that, being in jail they still sang praises to God and talked with Him in prayer. At midnight, in the darkest hour, in prison, in a dark place, the Light was shining. Jesus came to shine God's light in this dark place through the lives of Paul and Silas. Who is hearing your song of praise today? Who is hearing your prayer to Jesus today?

blessings and burdens

I laugh when you laugh - the visas have come, now the journey can begin to fulfull the calling that's been given to you. Why the wait? I don't know, but, the waiting's passed and the time has come to go.
I cry when you cry - the growth has been discovered and the cause of the illness uncovered and now comes the surgeon, surgery, recovery. Why the wait? I don't know, but, the waiting's passed and the time for the growth to go has come.
Friends are for laughing and rejoicing with and crying and hoping with - the being with part is a key part, and, the wanting to be with part is part of your heart. Be steady in your 'withness' , be with it all the time.

Abundant life

"The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make m to walk upon mine high places." - Habakkuk 3:19 KJV
Those places where the shepherd takes me; the shepherd whose I am; the shepherd who knows my name -- I'd follow where He leads -- to the darkest valley, to the highest height. I thank You that You not only enable me, call me, desire me to scale those heights - You fit me to do it "grace-fully". More than life, yes, abundant life.

Visiting God's heart

I've journaled for some 27 years now. It ranges from the recording of the mundane daily happenings to me and family, to reflections on readings of others, to original (with me) thoughts relating to current events or spiritual experiences. This year in addition I am writing in a book, "My Daily Walk" which is a journal/calendar sent to us by Bishop Bickerton of W.Pa. UMC. Today's readings and thoughts are as follows:
"Every word of God is pure; he is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him." -
taken from the book of Proverbs, chapter 30, verse 5 - King James Version.
+It is an uncoditional truth that "every word of God is pure..." He speaks without deceit, or, compromise. His speech is pure both as to intent and content. It reflects the heart of its' source, His heart is pure, so, His speech follows His heart. ( This is true of every thinking, speaking being).
+His being a shield , however, is conditional. He shields those who put their trust in Him. Like Jesus berore Jerusalem stated, how often I would have taken you under my wing (like a mother hen) but, you would not. Some would argue that to trust eiter must be a gift from God, i.e. not a gift all have, but somethow a special gift, or, else it's a work of man apart from God's grace. I feel it is God's grace that extends such possibility to everyone who will. I feel that it doesn't diminish its' graciousness, decrease our dependence on Him to have opportunity to decide, nor increase our power as though such a decision on the face marked our strength. There would be no possibility of condition without His grace.
SO, thank you for your pure word and your gracious allowance of our trust meaning anything.
